As the project investigators of the study, Prof. Cruz and Asst. Prof. Cruz highlighted how the Longitudinal Study on Ageing and Health in the Philippines (LSAHP) has influenced policies, guided programs, and sparked academic and national policy discussions toward the promotion of healthy and inclusive ageing in the country.

Already in its third wave this year, LSAHP is the first nationally representative, multi-actor panel study focusing on the health status and health transitions experienced by older Filipinos. It is implemented by the Demographic Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (DRDF) in partnership with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).

At the end of their presentation, Prof. Cruz and Asst. Prof. C. Joy Cruz urged the government to invest more in ageing research as the country transitions to an ageing society.
