Faculty Evaluation Instrument (FEI) Tool

The Faculty Evaluation Instrument (FEI) Tool provides an easy way for the faculty of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) to tell them if they are qualified to apply for Faculty Merit Promotion (FMP).

The tool aims to simplify the assessment of the performance of each faculty using the parameters defined in the Faculty Evaluation Instrument (FEI) prepared by the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (OADAA) and approved by the College Faculty Assembly on 13 February 2017. The FEI standardizes the measurement of faculty performance across four components: Teaching, Research, Extension, and Professional Development.

The form was harmonized with the 2019 FMP Guidelines per Memo PDLC 2019-18. The harmonized categories and points were approved by the CSSP Special Faculty Assembly on 30 September 2019, and the form was updated for use in the 2021 FMP. The form was further revised for the 2022 FMP to reflect the change in the Student Evaluation Tool (SET) implemented in the first semester of AY 2020-2021.

This tool was developed and updated in accordance with the pertinent documents up to the 2022 call for FMP. Any subsequent changes to the promotion guidelines including which accomplishments are considered for promotion, categories and definitions, and the point system including the conversion from raw score to steps, may not be reflected in the tool or the manual.

CSSP faculty members may access the FEI Tool through their respective departments. The manual contains specific instructions to facilitate the use of the tool. The contents of the manual apply to the FEI Excel Form prepared by the Population Institute and released on 01 May 2024.
