Ms. Ma. Rowena Campos, a second year Masters in Population Studies (MPoPs) student, bagged the UPPI Alumni Academic Excellence Award for the second semester of academic year (AY) 2014-2015.

A full-time student with 10 units for that semester, Ms. Campos got the highest GWA of 1.25 among all MPoPs and Master of Arts in Demography (MADEM) students to get the nod of the UPPI academic committee. The awarding took place during an orientation for new students in July 2015.

The semestral academic excellence award was instituted early last year as a way for alumni of the Institute to give back and help current students in pursuing their degree. The first awardee was Mr. Joshua Mariano, also an MPoPs student.

The winner for the first semester of AY 2015-2016 will be announced by mid-February of this year.
