UP OVPRI approves UPPI’s CMP Proposals: NEXTGEN and DIWA

The UP Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (UP OVPRI) has officially approved the Institute’s proposed research programs on youth and ageing under the Collective Mentorship Program (CMP). The CMP aims to strengthen research and innovation, creative work, higher learning, and public service efforts across graduate units in the university.

The Institute’s research program on youth is titled “NEXTGEN: Young Populations Research Group.” Its objectives are to conduct research on childhood and youth, nurture students and emerging youth researchers, and mobilize data for government, civil society, and academic use to address issues affecting children and youth.

Meanwhile, UPPI’s research program on ageing is called Demographic and Interdisciplinary Studies on Wellbeing and Ageing (DIWA). DIWA is designed to conduct research and train graduate students and early-career researchers on population ageing and the wellbeing of older people. It also aims to inform ageing policy and programs through research dissemination and stakeholder engagements.

Through these programs, UPPI affirms its commitment to producing impactful and innovative research that addresses issues across different generations.
