Local linkages
In its conduct of research, the UP Population Institute (UPPI) collaborates with a number of local research organizations.
The OPS is a non-stock and non-profit population and health research institute affiliated with the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City, Philippines. It conducts research on population, health and nutrition; provides training and consultancies; and publishes its findings in order to contribute to local, sub-national, and national development initiatives while promoting the research culture of the university.
The RIMCU is the research arm of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. With the aims of improving quality of life and nurturing Mindanao’s rich culture, RIMCU studies social and economic development in Mindanao and other regions in the country. The Institute has extensive research and consultancy undertakings in the fields of anthropology, demography, economics, history, and political science.
