International Workshop on Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI)
Operations and CSPro Programming for Android Users

October 9-20, 2017

UPPI Seminar and Computer Rooms, 3/F Palma Hall
Population Institute
College of Social Sciences and Philosophy
University of the Philippines Diliman

Workshop participants will gain insight into the planning and management of computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) operations through the development of mock CAPI census or survey plans and schedules. Instructors will provide case studies of where CAPI procedures were implemented to varying degrees of success and will discuss the resulting implications.
Moreover, using the open software Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro), participants will learn about ways to adapt survey instruments to smaller screens, to ensure data quality through integrated data checks, and to control the user interface and program flow using logic programming. Participants will also learn to build tools for survey management, tracking, and data transfer.
The event is organized by the UP Population Institute (UPPI) in collaboration with the United States Census Bureau and the Asian Development Bank and United States Agency for International Development.
