UPPI Professors Selected for the 2024 DHS Mentored Papers Program

The Institute is pleased to announce that the research proposal entitled, "Studying the understudied phenomenon: Levels, trends, and correlates of under-15 fertility in the Philippines," by Assoc. Prof. Maria Paz N. Marquez and Prof. Maria Midea M. Kabamalan has been selected for the 2024 Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Mentored Papers Program.

The program is intended for past DHS fellows who aim to produce publishable journal manuscripts using DHS data, focusing on health-related topics with an emphasis on climate, gender, and youth.

Professors Marquez and Kabamalan were recipients of the 2017 DHS Fellows Program. They will collaborate with and receive mentorship from Dr. Thomas Pullum and Ms. Rachael Church of the DHS program.

Two other teams from Burkina Faso and India were also selected to participate alongside them.
