Alejandro Christian D. Soler, a graduate of Master in Population Studies at the UP Population Institute (April 2010) recently earned his PhD in Political Science & International Relations at the University of Delaware (UD) with the successful defence of his dissertation entitled “Going urban: Marking cities, city networks and global commodity chains in the capitalist world-economy”.

After finishing MPOPs in 2010, Soler took up Masters at the UD Department of Political Science & International Relations earning his second postgraduate degree in 2014. Three years later, in 2017, he would receive his doctorate in the same specialization.

Dr. Soler is currently professorial lecturer at the Miriam College. Previously, he held positions at the UD as Instructor (June- July 2016) and Teaching Assistant (August 2012 – December 2016). In 2010, he also worked as a Research Assistant at the Scalabrini Migration Center.

His work which identified the relationship between air freight and population growth, income, employment, and green spaces is published at the
International Journal of Political Science and Development, 3: 108-18, 2015.
