Dr. Helen James is co-editor, chapter author, and chapter co-author of The consequences of disasters: Demographic, planning and policy implications, a publication which examines a number of disasters in Asia and their ramifications to policy and population. The book devotes three chapters to the Philippines where two specifically look into the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991, one chapter of which is authored by Dr. Josefina N. Natividad of the UP Population Institute.
